A family memorial service for Mrs. Frances Barr, age 76 of Gary, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Barr Family's Home on County Road 1230 near Gary. Mrs. Barr passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at her home in Gary. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Frances Aliene Barton Barr was born on June 23, 1932 in Rusk County, Texas to Ezra Ester and Minnie Oda Minter Barton. She attended Arlem and Garrison schools. Mrs. Barr married Ondie Ira Barr on December 22, 1956 in Mt. Enterprise, Texas. She moved to Gary in 1980 and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Church in Carthage. Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Presley Barr; one daughter, Elizabeth Broadway; and three brothers, Willis Henry Barton, John Lovis Barton, and James Barton.

Mrs. Barr is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ondie Barr of Gary; four sons, Kenneth Barton and wife Tonie of Henderson, Walter Barr of Gary, Ira Barr and wife Teresa of Carthage, and Curtis Barr and wife Tracie of Timpson; two daughters, Renita Baker and husband Doug of Gary and Renea Simonson and husband Denis of Gary; two sisters, Juanita Cast and husband Barney of Freeport and Katie Espinoza and husband Earnest of Carthage; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
