Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Marie Armstrong Dixon, age 81, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Phillips and Bro. Bruce Will officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Dixon passed away on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2011, in Longview.
Frances Marie Armstrong Dixon was born on Feb. 22, 1930, in Beckville, TX to H.K. and Capitola Bailey Armstrong. She graduated from Beckville High School with the class of 1947. Mrs. Dixon married Murph Alton Dixon, Jr. on July 5, 1947, in Tatum and he preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 2005, after 58 years of marriage. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and cooking. Mrs. Dixon lived her lifetime in Beckville and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beckville. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by one son, Franklin K. Dixon and wife Janice of Carthage; two daughters, Kathy Marie Anderson and husband Richard of Beckville and Tina Lyn Massengale and husband Rocky of Deadwood; one sister, Rudine Maddox and husband Ray of Marshall; eight grandchildren, Jason Dixon and wife Amanda of Beckville, Landon Dixon and wife Gigi of Carthage, Kristi Coile of Beckville, Kimberly Gray and husband Josh of Carthage, Beau Watts and wife Holly of Beckville, Brooklyn Stewart of Carthage, Brannon Hightower of Deadwood, and Cheyenne Massengale of Deadwood; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Destyn Dixon, Brittney Dixon , Jase Dixon, Keri Dixon, Landon Heath Dixon, Micah Jade Weatherford, Cade Dixon, Taylor Dixon, Dakota Jones, Kobe David Gray, Hannah-Marie Gray, Brayden Scott Stewart, and Kynlee Jo Stewart. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Dixon.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Dixon, Landon Dixon, Beau Watts, Brannon Hightower, Sid Harris, and Dakota Jones.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Billy Hugh Harris, Hugh Martin, Thurmon Osburn, Kenneth Pierce, Jimmy Pierce, and David Harris.
