Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Jackson "Bud" Mooney, Sr., age 90 years of Carthage, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, December 10, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Everett officiating. Interment will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Mooney died on Thursday morning, December 7, 2006 in Carthage, Texas.

Floyd Jackson Mooney, Sr. was born on December 5, 1916 in Ravenden Springs, Randolph County, Arkansas to James Franklin and Josephine Ray Mooney. Mr. Mooney worked as a farmer. He was married to Annie Marie Minyard Mooney on August 6, 1977 and she preceded him in death on November 1, 2004. Mr. Mooney was of the Baptist faith and had lived in Carthage since 1973 moving from LaPorte, Texas.

Mr. Mooney is survived by three sons, Gene Mooney of Flint, Michigan, Jimmy Mooney and wife Sharon of Ravendon Springs, Arkansas, and Jack Mooney and wife Lorraine of Jefferson, Texas; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Neeley and husband John of San Antonio; step-daughter, Janet Griffith and husband Jimmy of Colleyville, Texas; four sisters, Betty Jo Taylor of Conway, Arkansas, Pauline Henderson of Torrance, California, Mary Lee Bounds of Keiser, Arkansas, and Catherine Henson of Conway, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
