Florence Dickey, 93, of the Antioch Community, passed away on Monday morning, July 9, 2018, in Longview. Florence June Love Dickey was born on Aug. 3, 1924, in Royal Oak, MI to the late Robert Henry and Bertha Ann Loucks Love. Florence attended Alpena, MI schools and later married Holland Dickey on March 26, 1977, in Las Vegas. She worked as a supply manager in the healthcare industry for many years. In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Dickey moved to Carthage from California. She enjoyed volunteering in the community where she served as Vice-Chairman of Child Protective Services in Carthage and worked many hours at the Panola County Food Bank. Mrs. Dickey was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Howard, Lawrence, Claud, and Floyd Love.

Survivors include her husband, Holland Dickey of the Antioch Community; step-daughter, Debra Brown and husband James of Garland; granddaughter, Nicole Dickey of Quinlan; nieces, Shirley Briggs of Covina, CA, Cindy Anderson and husband Scott of Glendora, CA, Ginny Love of Ukia, CA, and Tracie Ramirez of Covina, CA; and nephew, Jerry Sutton of Arizona.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. Rodger Cole officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jessie Norris, J.P. Norris, Rodney Nolen, Bruce Maines, Charlie Clements, and Elton Weems. Honorary pallbearers are Earl Spurgeon, Scott Dyer, Kenny McDaniel, Charles Nichols, Joe Ben Wooten, Keith Abernathy, Ray Wells, and John Hooker.
