Flora Register, 90, of Nacogdoches, TX formerly of Carthage, TX, gained her angel wings on Saturday morning, Aug. 10, 2024, in Nacogdoches. Flora Ruth Roberts was born on Dec. 9, 1933, in Nacogdoches to the late Neal Archie and Gladys Josephine Tubbe Roberts. She married Gene Austin Register on May 22, 1952, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2017. Mrs. Register worked for many years at the First State Bank and Trust Co. in Carthage in bookkeeping until her retirement. After retirement, she and Gene moved back to Nacogdoches to the family homestead. Flora loved playing chicken foot with her group of friends who were surely saving her a spot at the table for her to join in the game. She was always up for an adventure, especially to go watch a ball game. Flora was the navigator before navigation devices became popular. She loved working puzzles at home on the dining room table and in the newspaper, playing sudoku, and cryptogram often. She also loved The Price is Right and the Game Show Channel. Flora absolutely loved animals and would gladly welcome in strays to her home. She was the best cook and made chicken and dumplings from scratch. Flora loved yard work and her mowing technique followed no pattern or lines, she just went wherever she wanted. She took great pride in gardening and harvesting vegetables, canning peas and making excellent hot sauce. Flora loved picking blackberries and she made an excellent blackberry cobbler, with no seeds!

Her grand entrance into Heaven was welcomed with open arms by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Gene Register; her son, Jeffrey Austin Register; grandsons, Justin Pike and Blake Henderson; and brothers, Buford and Winford Roberts.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam Pike and husband Jimmy and Beverly Henderson and husband Wyatt; daughter-in-law, Jodie Register; grandchildren, Joslyn Wedgeworth and husband Keith, Kris Register and wife Gina, Kyle Register and wife Samantha, Klay Register and wife Sara, and Ayrika Giese and husband Tony; great-grandchildren, Slade, Seth, Sutton, Colby, Karter, Kennedy, Braxton, Violet, Aniston, Finn, Kayleigh, Taylor, Kason, Zane, and Tyson; great-great grandchildren, Saylor Claire and Weston; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches with Dr. Mike Wicker officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage.
