Flora Mae Drewery, 94, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday morning, March 9, 2019, at her home near Carthage. Flora Mae McIlwain Drewery was born on Jan. 18, 1925, to the late Weaver George and Lila Mae Jones McIlwain. She graduated from Carthage High School. Mrs. Drewery worked as a dietician at Panola General Hospital for over 25 years before her retirement. She loved plants, gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Drewery was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Drewery.

Survivors include her children, Dian Verden of Conroe, Henry Noel Drewery and wife Louan of Longview, Charlotte Stephenson and husband Sammy of Carthage, Patricia Jo Stephenson and husband Jerry of Gary, Bonita Drewery of Carthage, and Anita Burgin and husband Bobby of Shelbyville, KY; brother, Jack McIlwain and wife Sharon of Carthage; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4146 NW Loop 436, Carthage, TX 75633. A reception will follow at the Clayton Community Center, 4588 SH 315, Clayton, TX 75637. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
