Fern Clydie Powell, 83, of Beckville, TX, went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, April 13, 2020, in Carthage, TX. She was born on Sept. 13, 1936, the second child of eleven, from the union of Clyde Washington Powell, Sr. and Viola Mae Brown Powell. She loved horses, cats, and all types of food. She dedicated her life to taking care of the elderly and children. Born in Palestine, TX and raised in Neches, TX, she moved to Beckville in 1969, and was of the Baptist faith. Fern was preceded in death by her father; mother; sister, Lanore Gee; and brother, Clyde Powell, Jr.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Ross of Palestine; brother, Doug Powell and wife Amanda of Beckville; sister, Rita Brinkley and husband Tom of Beckville; sister, Kathy Standley and husband Jerry of Henderson; sister, Diane Acker and husband Scott of Beckville; brother, Louis Powell and wife Beth of Carthage; sister, Nita Wilson and husband Harley of Beckville; numerous nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Patsy Armstrong of Tatum.

A family graveside service will be held at Youngblood Cemetery with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home
