A funeral service for F.G. "Bubba" Lipsey, 86, of Oakwood, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel in Palestine with Bro. John Montgomery and Bro. Doug Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood City Cemetery. Condolence calls will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mr. Lipsey passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.

F.G. "Bubba" Lipsey was born in Miles, Texas on December 28, 1928, to the late Archie and Myrtle Lipsey. Bubba married Joya Dixon Lipsey on August 14, 1950. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Bubba worked in the pipeline industry for many years. He was Leon County Commissioner from 1990–2002. He was a member of the Buffalo Masonic Lodge #554. He enjoyed ranching, fishing, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Bubba was also preceded in death by his son, Sammy Lipsey,
and (4) siblings,Archie Lipsey Jr., R. L. (Tight) Lipsey, L. R. (Pete)Lipsey,and Johnnie Pearl Lipsey Harding.


Mr. Lipsey is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joya Lipsey; daughter, Vicki Lipsey Stroud; daughter-in-law, Vicky Lipsey wife of the late Sammy Lipsey; grandchildren, Staci Rantala and husband Raymond, Jamie Lipsey, Colby Scroggins, Julie Florence and husband Justin, Sawyer Stroud, and Jordan Lipsey and wife Hannah; great-grandchildren, Cullen Pate, Tori Neel, Raeann Rantala, and Jaxyn, Kaylie, Kynlie, and Kiley Florence; great-great-grandchildren, Braelynn and Karsyn Pate; and many nieces and nephews and close friends.

Pallbearers will be Tim Harding, Joe Harding, Larry Lipsey, William Lipsey, Scott Lipsey, Stuart Lipsey, Brent Bing, Jim Bob Stroud, and Larry McGill.

If desired memorials may be made to the Oakwood Cemetery or First Christian Church of Oakwood.
