A funeral service for Mrs. Evelyn Hunt Teal, age 89, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Dodson and Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Teal passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2013, in Carthage.

Evelyn Hunt Teal was born on Sept. 11, 1923, in Georgetown, TX to Charlie Freeman and Alta Mae Barrington Hunt. Evelyn graduated from Cotton Center, TX High School with the class of 1942. She married Carl Franklin Teal on July 4, 1942, in Lubbock, TX and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1983. Mrs. Teal moved to Carthage in 1968, and was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class and was a faithful visitor to local nursing homes with her church. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Charlsie Dewey, Marie Faith, Wanda Morris, and Margie Hall.

She is survived by two daughters, Carla Teal and Kerry Smith and husband Perry all of Carthage; one brother, Charlie "Tex" Hunt and wife Wanda of Lubbock; one sister, Sallie Terrell of League City; four grandchildren, April Lewis, Lyn Lewis and wife Becky of Mt. Belvieu, Misty Coleman and husband Brent of Beckville, and Adam Smith and wife Kiffany of Carthage; eight great-grandchildren, J.T. and Destini Roe, Sydni and Landon Lewis, Kyle and Karsyn Coleman, and Ethan and Avery Smith; and a special caregiver, Paula Runnels of Minden.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heart's Way Hospice and Visiting Angels for the loving care given to Mrs. Teal.

Serving as pallbearers are Lyn Lewis, Brent Coleman, Adam Smith, Kyle Coleman, Keith Berlin, and Landon Lewis.
