Evelyn Plant, 82, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Friday morning, Dec. 6, 2019, at her home in Carthage. She was born on June 14, 1937, in Lind, Adams County, WA to the late William Fode and Mary Sachmann Fode Wilhelm. She married James Albert Plant on Jan. 7, 1977, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2005. Mrs. Plant attended Panola College where she earned a cosmetology certificate. She owned and operated Evelyn's Haus of Beauty in Carthage for many years until her retirement in 2004. Mrs. Plant loved working in the yard, crocheting, traveling, and visiting with her family and friends. She especially loved decorating for the holidays. Mrs. Plant was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ray, Howard, Donnie, and Eddie Fode; and sister, Dorothy Foxen.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Ritter of Clayton and Sheree Ritter of Carthage; grandson, Jordan Penny of McKinney; and step-daughters, Kelly Todaro and Shelley Pasket and their children.

A private graveside service will be held at Restland Memorial Park, Carthage, TX.
