A funeral service for Mrs. Evelyn Rundell Jones, age 92, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Landtroop officiating. Mrs. Jones passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 15, 2014, in Carthage.

Evelyn Rundell Jones was born on Nov. 10, 1921, in Delhi, LA to Eddie Lafayette and Gussie Harris Rundell. She was an identical twin in a family of eleven siblings. After settling in PanolaCounty, Evelyn owned two restaurants, the Dinner Bell Café and the WhiteCastle. She also worked in sales at Birdwell's Clothing and O & D Grocery of Carthage and Martin's in Longview. In later years, Evelyn worked as dietary supervisor for North Richland Hills Nursing Home and Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Arkansas. She also worked as a home health provider. She loved music, cooking, reading, often reading an entire novel in one evening, and loved her dog Buddy.

Evelyn is survived by her beloved daughter, Nina Lynn Record and husband Frank of Carthage; son, Charles Abbott and wife Linda of Karnack; grandchildren, Charles Abbott Jr. and wife Sarah of Waskom, Dolores Abbott of Henderson, John Abbott and wife Peggy of Karnack, Danny Abbott of Marshall, Christine Abbott and husband Wayne of Zavalla, and Charolette Abbott of Olympia, Washington; and several great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Walton Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. Patsy Groves, 130 CR 228 Carthage, Texas 75633.
