Obituary
A graveside service for Mrs. Evelyn Faye Cranmore Willis, age 78, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Walton Cemetery in the Del Ray Community of Panola County, TX with Pastor Aaron Bequette and Rev. Danny Carter officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Willis passed away on Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, 2012, at her home near Carthage.
Evelyn Faye Cranmore Willis was born on Jan. 15, 1934, in Marietta, OK to John Matthew and Delia Alta Viola Walling-Cranmore. She graduated from Madill High School in Madill, OK with the class of 1952. Mrs. Willis married Richard Daniel "Dick" Willis on May 28, 1971, in Ardmore, OK and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2010. She traveled the world with her husband until 1977, when they settled in Carthage. Mrs. Willis loved crocheting, crafting, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Ebenezer U.M.C. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Virgil Nelson Cranmore; and a granddaughter, Dena Michelle Lafitte.
Mrs. Willis is survived by three sons, Dennis Allen Lafitte of Glenpool, OK, John Michael Lafitte and wife Gerry of Buffalo, Darin Lynn Willis and wife Wynn of Plano; two daughters, Tamara Ann Johnson of Carthage and Evelyn Jean Willis-Harvey and husband Steve of Carthage; former daughter-in-law, Karen Wright Lafitte of Glenpool; and 9 grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Willis.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff, doctors, and nurses of Heart's Way Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Willis.
Serving as pallbearers are Cole Wilmoth, Ben Lafitte, Matt Lafitte, Matt Cranmore, Clint McAlister, and Mickey Powell.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bill Kneipp and Rick Davis.
