Eva Loise Brooks, 70, of Carthage, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, in Longview. She was born on Oct. 6, 1946, in Shreveport. She graduated from Carthage High School and attended SMU where she earned a double masters degree in Oriental and Latin American Studies. She worked in service as an educator for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed painting, was a loving mother, and a fiercely loyal friend.
Eva Loise is survived by her mother, Jenelle Brooks of Carthage; daughter, Bess Pollock of Carthage; brother, Edward Brooks of Plano; and half-sisters, Greta and Tonja of Maine.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dick Dobbins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers are James Pollock, Joe Pollock, and James Reynolds.
