Funeral services for Mrs. Ervina Lilly Nickerson, age 94 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Carthage with Rev. J. T. Harris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery. Mrs. Nickerson passed away on Sunday morning, January 11, 2009, in Carthage.

Ervina Pipkin Lilly Nickerson was born on November 8, 1914 in Panola County, Texas to Wallace and Hagar Trial Pipkin. Mrs. Nickerson lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Curtis Lilly and Israel Nickerson; two brothers; and two sisters.

Mrs. Nickerson is survived by five sisters, Addye Motley of Houston, Myrtle Greene of Maywood, Illinois, Mildred Smith of Las Vegas, Thelma Pipkin of Oakland, California, and Lorraine Lloyd of San Francisco. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Nickerson.

Serving as pallbearers are Taft Allison, Clinton Cato, Juandrell Rocquemore, Kendrell Rocquemore, Kenneth Smith, and Willie Smith.
