Erik Michael Lundquist, 32, of Gary, Texas, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 8, 2023. He was born on September 19, 1990, in Dallas, Texas to Karl Michael and Benita Jo Little Lundquist. Erik was Christened at an early age at St. Benard of Clairvaux Catholic Church. He moved with his family to Gary in 2003, from Las Vegas, Nevada and he attended Eastside Baptist Church. Erik graduated from Gary High School with the class of 2009, and attended Panola College. He moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he worked in corporate video editing. Erik later moved to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and worked in the hospitality industry. He recently moved back to Gary and worked as a manager at Jalapeno Tree in Carthage. Erik was a very talented artist, a gifted musician, an excellent writer, and a video game historian. He loved to make people laugh and enjoyed doing stand-up comedy from time to time. Erik was preceded in death by grandfathers, Clifford Lundquist, Dewayne Little, and Billy Creamer.
He is survived by his mother, Benita Little; father, Karl Mike Lundquist; brothers, Josh Jaccard and partner Kelly Ellison and Nicholas Lundquist; sister, Sean Samford and husband Justin; grandmothers, Ruth Lundquist, Sue Creamer, and Joyce Calhoun; aunts, Kay Lundquist Click and Sheryl Cranford; uncles, Tim Click and Billy Cranford; nephews, Hudson Samford, Bryce Samford, and Harland Samford; cousins, Jett Click and wife Kailea, Brianna Click and fiancé Cameron Pino, Jami Cranford and wife Machael, Justin Cranford and wife Colby, Jordan Cranford and wife Brittani; and best friend, Dylan Endsley.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. with Pastors Levi Cohorst and Dale Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Josh Jaccard, Justin Samford, Justin Cranford, Nick Lundquist, Jamie Cranford, Jordyn Cranford, Dylan Endsley, Toney Newsom, and Jeremy Newsom. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Endsley, Alber Waters, Paul Bambrey, and Zac McDaniel.
