Emma Marie Combs Dorsey McRoy, 90, of Irving, passed away Tuesday morning, June 28, 2016 in Irving. She was born on Feb. 3, 1926, in Caddo Mills, Texas, to the late Millard L. and Myrtle E. Sloan Combs. She graduated from Longview High School with the class of 1944. Marie married Ray Howard Dorsey and later Charles Robert McRoy and both preceded her in death. She volunteered for over 30 years at hospitals in Austin and Lewisville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisville. Marie was also preceded in death by siblings, Laurene Rogers, Norma J. Willeford, Kenneth Combs, and Pat Jones and a grandson, Kyle Ray Dorsey.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Ray Dorsey and wife Denise of The Woodlands; brother, James L. Combs of Dallas; sister, Doris Inabinette of Irving; grandchildren, Kristina Marie Thompson and husband Scott, Allie Genene Mayor and husband Zachary, and Brady Quillin Dorsey; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Nicholas McMillen and Amanda and Jonathan Thompson. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. McRoy.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview with Richard (Dick) Jones officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Scott Thompson, Jonathan Thompson, Jacob McMillen, Nicholas McMillen, Zachary Mayor, and Brady Dorsey.
