Elsie Farrow, 89, of Beckville, passed away on Monday night, Jan. 2, 2017, in Longview. Elsie Faye Ellis was born on Jan. 7, 1927, in Beckville to the late Murray and Gemmie Young Ellis. She graduated from Beckville High School. She married Dr. Irving Joseph Farrow and he preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1997. Mrs. Farrow moved back to Beckville in 1992, and was a member of the Rock Hill United Methodist Church where she served as church treasurer for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a child, Don Michael Wells on Oct. 13, 1960; and her sister, Doris Redman.
Survivors include her children, Terry Lynn McIlveen of Victoria, Chip Wells and wife Sherry of Lake of the Pines, and Debra Lindsey and husband Bob of Gilmer; siblings, Charles Wayne Ellis of Grand Bluff and Jerry Ellis and wife Linda of Forney; and 7 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Rock Hill United Methodist Church under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
