A funeral service for Mr. Elon Foy Banks, age 95, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012, in the Wright Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Revered James Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday at Wright Colonial Funeral Home. Mr. Banks passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 in Carthage, Texas. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Elon Foy Banks was born on October 26, 1916 in Electra, Texas. He married Lennie Lois Johnson on February 1, 1938 in Vernon, Texas. He was a retired oilfield operator and pumper. He served as the Church Treasurer at Snyder First Assembly of God for Forty + years. He loved the Lord and witnessed to all he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Dora Banks; his wife of 60 years, Lennie Lois; one daughter, Patricia Ann Stroud; one son, David Foy Banks; four brothers; and two sisters.

Mr. Banks is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Betty Banks of Carthage, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Ray LaRoux of Tatum, Texas and Debbie and Billy Blevins of Longview, Texas; one son-in-law and his wife, David and Betty Stroud of Richmond, Texas; four sisters-in-law; nine grandchildren, Tammy and Gaylon Hudson, Tonja and Danny Menges, Tracy Banks, Darena and Tony Blalock, Lennie and Morgan Hillman, Daryl and Debbie Stroud, Lorin LaRoux, Leticia and Kevin Filipowicz, and Ashley and David Roberts; fourteen great-grandchildren; and twenty great-great grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Banks.
