Funeral services for Mr. Elmer Lee Hoell, age 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2007 at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel with Brother Dale Reed of Carthage Missionary Baptist Church and Reverend Thumper Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday evening at Rose-Neath Mansfield Funeral Home. Mr. Hoell passed away Friday night, December 21, 2007 in Carthage. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
Elmer Lee Hoell was born on November 26, 1920 in Grand Cane, LA to Elmer and Jessie Hoell. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield. Mr. Hoell retired from United Gas Pipeline Company after 40 years of service. After becoming ill, he moved to Carthage to be with his family. Mr. Hoell was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 49 years, Louise Kuhel Hoell.
Mr. Hoell is survived by one son, Richard L. Hoell and wife Frances of Carthage, TX; one daughter, Frances Lee Forse and husband James of Spring, TX; one sister, Joyce Larsen of Sulpher, LA; three grandchildren, Shelley Hover of Kenner, LA, Tracy Holland and husband Corey of Beckville, TX, and Lee Hoell and wife Ashley of Carthage, TX; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Hover of Kenner, LA, Kaylee Hoell of Carthage, and Emma Grace Holland of Beckville, TX.
