Funeral services for Mrs. Ellie Mae Turner, age 55 of De Berry, Texas, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2007 at Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church in De Berry with Reverend A. Leon Hicks officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crossroads Cemetery. Mrs. Turner's body will be in state after 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church on Friday. Mrs. Turner passed away on Sunday morning, December 9, 2007 in Marshall.

Ellie Mae Townsend Turner was born on April 18, 1952 in Forkville, Mississippi to Calvin and Carrie Lean White. Mrs. Turner loved crafts, sewing, and taking care of her grandchildren. She had lived in Panola County since 1980 moving from Morton, Mississippi. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Calvin Townsend, Jr.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband, Norris Turner of De Berry; four sons, Charles Townsend of Mississippi, Tarus Turner of De Berry, Douglas Turner of Las Vegas, and Jimmy Turner of Japan; one daughter, Monica Turner Simmons and husband Bronte of Marshall; two sisters, Alma Jean Townsend and Cella Ree Townsend both of Morton, Mississippi; three brothers, Ken Earle Townsend, Adam Townsend, and Paul Gammage; and six grandchildren, Kaylin Turner, Destiny Turner, Jaiyona Turner, Miranda Turner, Tristan Turner, and LeBron Simmons. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Turner.

Serving as pallbearers are Todd Kirkland, Keith Kirvard, Shane Courtney, Carlos Courtney, Curtis Mayfield, Tyrone Small, Johnnie Williams, and T.C. Williams.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Charles Townsend and Tarus, Douglas, and Jimmy Turner
