Ellen Jane Arnold, 72, of Ore City, TX, formerly of Carthage, TX, passed away on Thursday morning, Aug. 22, 2019, at her home in Ore City. Ellen Jane Pendleton was born on Nov. 15, 1946, in Colorado City, TX to the late Jessie E. and Ellen Sims Pendleton. Mrs. Arnold worked in healthcare for many years. She moved to Ore City in 2013, from Carthage and was a member of Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lonnie Reed and Rudolph Arnold; and numerous siblings.

Survivors include her son, Lonnie A. Reed of Carthage; daughters, Sandra Reed of Ore City and Cathy Jane Bridges of Carthage; brothers, Billy Alvin Pendleton, Jack Raymond Pendleton, and Cortez F. Pendleton; sister, Roberta Baker; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Gary, TX with Rev. Thomas Woods officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers are Chris Reed, Jesse Lovell, Ben Reed and Quinton Morris.

Guests will be received and lunch will be served at noon on Sunday by the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion Hall Post 353 in Carthage.
