Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Bea Maines, age 81 of the Antioch Community will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Rodger Cole and Brother Bud Bonner officiating. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery in the Delray Community. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Maines passed away on Monday, September 18, 2006 at her residence.

Ella Bea Bush Maines was born on November 19, 1924 in Panola County to Alvin and Minnie Eakin Bush. She attended Gary schools until the eighth grade before moving to Carthage and graduating from Carthage High School. She married Reuben Wayne Maines on June 1, 1946 in Carthage. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ross Hopkins Real Estate. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play baseball and football. Mrs. Maines was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church where she worked as the church clerk for many years and served in the W.M.A. She has lived her lifetime in Panola County. Mrs. Maines was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2004; and two brothers, W.D. "Pap" Bush and Sable Bush.

Mrs. Maines is survived by one son, Bruce Maines and wife Polly of the Antioch Community; one daughter, Linda Kay Abernathy of the Antioch Community; one brother, Woodrow Bush and wife Lou of Nacogdoches; one sister, Sybil Burns of Carthage; five grandchildren, Keith, Clay, Jason, Lucas, and Kacey.

Serving as pallbearers are Keith, Clay, and Jason Abernathy, Lucas Maines, Gerald Burns, George Bush, and Mike Bush.
