Edwin Eugene Smith, 72, of Long Branch, Texas, formerly of Kilgore, Texas, passed away Wednesday evening, January 22, 2025, in Longview, Texas. He was born to Moultrie Smith, Jr. and Sybil Jean Akin Smith in Nacogdoches, Texas on May 15, 1952. Ed was a Kilgore High School graduate.  He worked as a welder in the oil and gas industry for Energy Weldfab, Inc. Ed was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed metal detecting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include Ed's wife, Jean Whiteside; sons, Brad Smith and Adam Smith; brother, Ken Smith; and numerous grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
