A funeral service for Mr. Edmantha Hall, Sr., age 65, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Hicks officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Gloster, LA. Mr. Hall will lie in state at the funeral home from 1-5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Hall passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 22, 2014, in Dallas.

Edmantha Hall, Sr. was born on May 13, 1948, in Tenaha, TX to the late Simon and Samantha Hall. He graduated from C.H. Daniels High School in Center, TX with the class of 1966. Mr. Hall served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He worked as a welder in the oil field and in fabrication. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Melissa Hall.

Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Lois Hall of Ariton, Ala., two sons, Daniel Hall of Houston and Edmantha Hall, Jr. and wife Amber of Cedar Hill; two daughters, Chasity Hill of Germany and Evon Hall of Lancaster; three brothers, David Hall of Joaquin, Simon Hall of Dallas, and Amos Hall of Athens; two sisters, Elizabeth Hall of Denver and Clavion Hall of Kilgore; and five grandchildren, Tierra, Tobius, Drake, Edrian, and Bryah.

Serving as pallbearers are Edmantha Hall, Jr., Daniel Hall, Larrauel Bledsoe, Robert Smith, David Hall, and Simon Hall.
