Edith Grace Cockrell Winterrowd, 94 of Carthage, Texas passed away Saturday morning, September 19, 2020 in Carthage, Texas. She was born February 5, 1926 in Panola County, Texas to John Foster and Mamie Rider Cockrell. Edith was raised in Panola County and graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1943. Mrs. Winterrowd married Kenneth Chancellor Winterrowd, Jr. in 1980 and celebrated 19 years together until he preceded her in death on November 30, 1999. Edith worked for many years for Ken Turner Pharmacy and the Violet Shop. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and loved gardening, sewing, putting together jigsaw puzzles and playing 42. Edith also, enjoyed going out to eat, spending time with family and friends, going to church and reading her bible. Mrs. Winterrowd is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deborah Willis Baker and great, great grandson, Ryder Tanner.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Willis and wife Patricia of Deadwood; daughter, Vickie Willis Barker and husband Claude of Carthage; step-children, James Winterrowd, Michael Winterrowd, Danny Winterrowd, Bobby Winterrowd, Kenny Winterrowd, Janet Parmer, Joan Grimes: 18 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 13 great, great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.  Special thanks to all her caregivers and the staff at Carthage Healthcare.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Walker officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Phillip Baker, Jamey Baker, Scotty Baker, Shane Andrews, Michael Manshack and Jay Manshack. Honorary pallbearer is Chancellor Baker.
