Obituary
A funeral service for Rev. Edgar Tatum, Jr., age 61, of Carthage, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Carthage with Rev. J. T. Harris and Rev. Tommy L. Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Holland's Quarters Cemetery. Rev. Tatum died Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, in Carthage, Texas.
Rev. Tatum was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Tatum, Sr. and Velma Tatum; his wife of 22 yrs., Sharon Tatum; brother, Bennie Ray Tatum; 2 sisters, Jean Evelyn Blankenship and Velma Ree Green; and a grandchild, Mekhi Tatum.
Rev. Tatum is survived by his son, Moseacke Velentez Tatum and wife Michelle; three daughters, Shundra L. Tatum Woods, Quinla K. Tatum, and Marocka Tatum; 11 grandchildren, DeMaria Woods, Stelladra Woods, Shyundra Woods, Taé Shun Jiles, DaKavian Champion, Sharian Champion, Larry Champion, Jr., Edgar Tatum, Celia Tatum, Mia Tatum, and Myles Tatum; 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tommy D. Tatum and Kenneth Wayne Tatum; and two sisters, Nelva Hicks and Barbara Taylor.
