A funeral service for Ed McDaniel, 79, of Carthage, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Anderson and Bro. Matt Comer officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. McDaniel passed away on Thursday night, Nov. 12, 2015, in Nacogdoches.

Amos Edward "Ed" McDaniel was born on Feb. 15, 1936, in Clarks, LA. Ed will be especially remembered by his love of family. He dedicated his career to Louisiana Pacific. Ed loved to travel and was an avid deer hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Lucille McDaniel and brothers, Freddie and Dennis McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife, Sis McDaniel; son, Mark McDaniel and spouse Debbie; daughter, Kay Peterson and spouse Bobby; son, Adam McDaniel; grandchildren, Todd Knippers, Kerry Davis, Kelly Kilgore, Allie Rutherford, Alex McDaniel, and Lily McDaniel; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Patsy Coffey and Ann Blackwell and spouse Joe.

Pallbearers are Bobby Peterson, Reese Knippers, Adam McDaniel, Brad Kilgore, Nathan Davis, and Ben Lockwood.
