A private committal service for Mr. Earl J. Laws, age 85, of Carthage, TX, formerly of Louisiana, was held on Monday morning, July 25, 2011, at City Cemetery in Carthage under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Laws passed away on Tuesday evening, July 19, 2011, in Carthage.
Earl Juner Laws was born on Dec. 5, 1925, in Hartford, KS. He earned a master's degree. Mr. Laws served his country in the U.S. Merchant Marines. He was retired from the U.S. Government and was a mason. Mr. Laws moved to Carthage in 2008, during Hurricane Katrina.
