Funeral services for Mr. Earl J. Eason, age 70 of Carthage, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Macky Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Rusk County. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Eason passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2006 in Longview, Texas.
Earl Jordan Eason was born on March 28, 1936 in Houston, Texas to Clarence Earl and Margaret Gumm Eason. He attended Houston Schools. Mr. Eason served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He married Myrna Hill on December 29, 1960 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Eason worked as a dispatch supervisor for Houston Power and Light until his retirement. He loved working with computers. Mr. Eason was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club Alpha in Henderson, Texas. He loved traveling, his family, and adored his wife. Mr. Eason has lived in Panola County since 1992 moving from Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Pine Hill United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school. Mr. Eason is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas Howard Eason and Richard Lynn Eason.
Mr. Eason is survived by his wife of 46 years, Myrna Eason of Carthage, Texas; one son, George Earl Eason and wife Belinda of Conroe, Texas; one daughter, D'Anna Miller and husband Melvin of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Amanda, Hannah, Evelyn Grace, and Tammy all of Houston, Texas; and one great-grandson, Christopher of Houston, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Ray Green, Clifford Henry Green, Kenneth Damon, Jeffrey Damon, Kenneth Damon, Jr. and Jonathan Russnell.
