Obituary

Mr. Douglas Ross Hyde, age 69, of the Mayflower Community in Rusk County, TX, passed away on Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2012, at his home in the Mayflower Community. The memorial service for Mr. Hyde has been postponed due to the hospitalization of Mrs. Hyde. The time and day will be reposted on this site as soon as possible. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Douglas Ross Hyde was born on Feb. 1, 1943, in Watertown, NY to Norris John and Mildred Elida Peters Hyde. He graduated from high school in Clayton, NY. He married Mary Elizabeth Seal on Sept. 5, 1964, in Clayton, NY. Mr. Hyde worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of the PRCA, the Aldridge Fish and Game Club, and was a Mason. Mr. Hyde moved to the Mayflower Community in Rusk County, TX in 1991, and was a member of the Tatum U.M.C. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Celia Livingston and Joyce Hyde.

Mr. Hyde is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Hyde of the Mayflower Community; three sons, Ross Douglas Hyde of Maud, TX, Roy David Hyde and Rick Donald Hyde and wife Angela all of the Mayflower Community; two brothers, John Hyde and wife Karen and James Hyde and wife Sandra all of Clayton, NY; one sister, Elaine Carney of Rome, NY; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Hyde.
