Dorthelle L. Ingram, also known as "Super D", was born on February 9, 1959, in Gary, Texas. He passed away on July 17, 2026, in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 67. Dorthelle’s life was marked by a deep dedication to family, an enduring commitment to his loved ones, and an unwavering sense of integrity and responsibility. He was the beloved son of the late James C. Ingram and Dorothy Booty Ingram. Dorthelle worked for many years at Tyson Foods, where he loved his job and going to work. His upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and resilience—qualities that would define both his character and his relationships throughout his life. Dorthelle loved basketball, playing dominos, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Long Branch, Texas.
Dorthelle was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and James Ingram; grandparents, Kizzy and Lawyer Ingram and Pearl and Buford Booty; son, DaBranton Pope; brothers, Anthony Ingram, Godfrey Ingram, and Winston Rocquemore; and sisters, Shelia Butler and Cynthia Ingram. He also deeply mourned the passing of his beloved wife, Shelia Ingram, whose partnership was a cornerstone of his life.
He is survived by his sons, Darell Pope, Kamarious Pope (Talova), and Tavares Pope; brothers, Dannie Ingram (Shelia), James Ingram Jr., David Ingram, and Leslie Ingram; sisters Regina Ingram and Yulonda G. Ingram; grandchildren, Dakadrian Pope, Tamia Jackson, Chance Pope, Amir Pope, Sanari Pope, and Jasabiria Pope; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Dorthelle L. Ingram will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with James Wall officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Long Branch.
Active pallbearers include Bruce Nelson, Lester Pitts, Alfred Brown, Travis Matlock, Sonny McCarthy, and James Marshall.

Dortherlle’s life stands as a testament to devotion and perseverance. His legacy endures in the hearts of his family and all who were privileged to know him.
