Funeral services for Ms. Dorris Hellen Cox, age 82 of Thornton, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel in Groesbeck, Texas with Reverend Randy Ayres officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Groesbeck Funeral Home. Ms. Cox passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at East Texas Medical Center in Carthage. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Dorris was born August 23, 1925 to Gilbert Cade and Alma B. (Henderson) Cox in Limestone County, Texas.

Survivors include two brothers, Scooter Cox of Groesbeck, Texas and Huey "Freckles" Cox and wife Mary Ann of Salado, Texas; sister-in-law, Jeannette Cox of Thornton, Texas; four nieces, Regenia Cox of Baytown, Texas, Kassey Howard of Carthage, Texas, Kathy Armstrong of Thornton, Texas, Patti Prince of Belton, Texas; and one nephew, Kenneth Cox of Groesbeck, Texas;

Dorris was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Alma Cox; and one brother Gilbert Eugene Cox.

Pallbearers are Eddie Armstrong, Travis Armstrong, Henry Howard, Robert Howard, Doug Yarbrough, and Dennis Walker.
