Doris Jean Pugh, 79, of DeBerry, passed away on Friday morning, Feb. 12, 2016, at her home in DeBerry. She was born on Nov. 25, 1936, in Culhill, CA, to the late Armetha Brandley Lackey. She worked as a baker until her retirement. Doris had lived in DeBerry for the past 40 years. She loved crocheting, tatting, and was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross. She was also preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include her daughters, Joy Moreland and husband James of DeBerry and Shirley Helphenstine and husband Donald of Yellville, Ark.; grandchildren, Brandi, Donnie, Lacy, and Karen; and a host of great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Arnold Shrewsbury officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Monday prior to the memorial service.
