Obituary

A funeral service for Mrs. Doris Williams, age 84, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 2, 2013, at Pine Grove Assembly in Beckville, TX with Rev. Elvie Adams and Bro. Jackie Harris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Williams passed away at her home near Beckville, surrounded by her loving family, on Wed. evening, Feb. 27, 2013.

Doris Arnold Williams was born on Oct. 30, 1928, in Panola County, TX to Edgar and Vinnie Inez Miller Arnold. She lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Pine Grove Assembly in Beckville. Mrs. Williams married James Elton Williams on June 22, 1957, in Carthage and was a true homemaker for all of her life. She had a strong and serious desire to raise beautiful African Violets and would not allow anyone but herself to care for them. Mrs. Williams loved fishing and could play a mean game of canasta. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ervin Arnold; and one son, Kenneth Hall.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Elton Williams; three daughters, Patricia Campbell of Beckville, Betty Landreneaux and husband Johnny of Lake Murvaul, and Linda Wilkinson and husband Weldon of Carthage; one sister, Nita Thomas and husband Jim of Prague, OK; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Williams.

Serving as pallbearers are Cody Liles, Kevin Landreneaux, Jacob Landreneaux, Jeremy Nagle, Joshua Nagle, and Chris Cammack.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Albert Williams.
