Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Mae Henderson, age 72, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Rev. L.W. Thorn officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Henderson passed away on Wednesday morning, March 10, 2010, in Longview.
Dora Mae Henderson was born on Apr. 12, 1937 in Carthage, TX to Jacob Henderson, Sr. and Mamie Bell McLemore Henderson. She attended Turner school. Mrs. Henderson lived all of her lifetime in Carthage and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and was a matron. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Frances Henderson Williams Bell and Betty Henderson Johnson; one brother, Jacob Henderson, Jr.; one son, Ronnie Henderson; and an infant daughter.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by three sons, Kurt Henderson and wife Shurronda, Gary Henderson, and Kemmy Henderson and wife Priscilla all of Carthage; three daughters, Donna Henderson of Carthage, June Henderson Taylor of Carthage, and Annette Randolph and husband Rodney of Dallas; one sister, Alice Henderson Booty of Carthage; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one special nephew, Larry Williams; four special nieces, Laurice Williamson, Letitia Williams, Angela Weathers, and Benita Wright; and a life long friend, Clara Pearl Patterson of Dallas. Mrs. Henderson is also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Hardy, Virgil Hardy, Michael Pipkins, Kenneth Pipkins, Raydell Pipkins, Darin Collins, Cecil Matlock, and Jessie Matlock.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kurt Henderson, Gary Henderson, Kemmy Henderson, Kerian Henderson, Keronna Henderson, Kendrick Henderson, Kedrick Henderson, Jarvis Henderson, Maurice McCarthy, Nathan Williamson, Gerald Booty, Arthur Mitchell, Roy Lee Briggs, Elliott Cade, and Johnny Miles.
