Funeral services for Mr. Donald Ray Robinson, age 85 of Clayton, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ken Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Clayton Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Robinson passed away on Tuesday morning, July 14, 2009, in Carthage.
Donald Ray Robinson was born on January 26, 1924, in Clayton, Texas to Thomas Jefferson and Dovie Mae Osborn Robinson. He married Judith Alta Green on November 8, 1947, in Hughes Springs. Mr. Robinson served his country in the United State Army Air Corps during WWII, where he flew over 50 missions with the Red Devil Squadron before being honorably discharged at the end of the war. He worked as a shipping clerk at Magnolia Grocery for many years before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe, George, and Weldon Robinson; and two sisters, Hermie Harris and Dorothy Robinson.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judith Green Robinson of Clayton; one son, Eddie Ray Robinson and wife Jane of Clayton; one daughter, Donnette Parks and husband Edward of Clayton; four grandchildren, Chad Parks and wife Debra of Clayton, Sunny Britt and husband Jamie of Patrick's A.F.B, Florida, Tim Robinson and wife Dana of the Logan Community, and Lindsey Mott and husband Joe Frank of Lufkin; and nine great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Robinson.
Serving as pallbearers are Chad Parks, Joe Frank Mott, Jamie Britt, Corey Robinson, Brad Robinson and Clay Standard.
