Donald James Capps, 54 of Huffman, TX, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016. He was born on Aug. 18, 1962, in Carthage to Wayne and Elva Claire Duke Benton. He worked as a musician for many years. Donald loved cooking, botony, music, leather and stone working, and was very creative. He was very active in helping others in his community.

Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Elva Benton of Crosby; wife, Peggy of Huffman; children, Stormy Jackson and husband Chris of Huffman, Justine Capps of Kingwood, Linda Caldwell and husband Joseph of Germany, Misty Capps of San Marcos, and Robert Capps of San Marcos; brother, Steven Benton of Crosby; grandchildren, Brookelyn, Kacey, and Jojo Caldwell; aunts, Helen Adams and Virginia Benton; and uncles, James Duke and Winfred Benton.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Steven Benton, Robert Capps, Cody Morris, Kieran Benton, James Malloy, and Dustin Fife.
