Don Nunley, 86 of Whitehouse, Texas, passed away on January 17, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on July 26, 1938, in Logansport, Louisiana to the late Luther H. and Nellie May Hawthorne Nunley. Don graduated from Oak Grove High School in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana with the class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, attaining the rank of Sp 4th class before being honorably discharged. Don attended Louisiana Baptist College where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies. He married JoAnn Thomas on May 18, 1961, in Marshall, Texas and she preceded him in death on May 10, 2022, after almost 61 years together. Don served as a Baptist minister for over 43 years. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by daughters, Cherie Templin and husband Robert and Donna Norris; grandchildren, Amanda Crouse (Jaime), Joshua Templin (Julie), Kelsey Norris, Alan Templin (Erica), Katie Nguyen (Kim-Long), and Alex Norris; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Nedra Nunley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Joshua Templin and Robert Templin officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Shalom Cemetery in Panola County, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the church.

Pallbearers are Joshua Templin, Alan Templin, Alex Norris, Jaime Crouse, Stephen Pate, and Bradley Pate.

Honorary pallbearers are Easton Crouse, Aaron Templin, Elijah Templin, and Kim-Long Nguyen.
