Don Greer, 84, of DeBerry, TX, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at his home in DeBerry. Donald Oliver Greer was born on March 3, 1935, in DeBerry to the late Thomas Augustus and Mavis Sue Lawless Greer. Don graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas with the class of 1953. He was a very talented musician, playing the organ and piano at St. Andrew's and Murvual United Methodist Churches and for many other area churches throughout the years. Don was a lover of the arts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mavis Greer and sisters, Mary Sue Jones and Shirley Arden York.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Hill and husband George of DeBerry; brother-in-law, Harold York, Sr.; and nieces and nephews, Dee Lewis Hill and wife Holly, Ben Hill, Lorie and husband Kenny Watson, Wava Ladd and husband Norman, Donna Newton and husband Ronnie, Harold York, Jr. and wife Brenda, Susan Shipp and husband Larry, Marcus Santa Cruz and wife Penny, John Jones, and Jeff Jones. Numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Greer.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Reverends Tim Turner and Tim Gough officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Dee Lewis Hill, Sr., Ben Hill, Harold York, Jr., Jessie York, Norman Ladd, III and Rufus Langford.

Honorary pallbearers are Susan Shipp, Wava Ladd, Donna Newton, Lorie Hill-Watson, Hollly J. Hill, Brenda York and the rest of Don's nieces.
