Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Dolma Lois Jackson, age 74 of Carthage, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Reverend L.W. Thorn, Pastor Nikia Smith, Reverend Alton Coleman, and Pastor Jerry Crain officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Jackson died on Monday, June 12, 2006 in Carthage, Texas.
Dolma Lois Gray Jackson was born on March 27, 1932 in Panola County, Texas. She was born to Embra and Zeta Mae O'Neal Gray and was raised by her stepmother Emma Lou Gray. Mrs. Jackson had lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Jackson who died on June 24, 1995; two children, Johnnie Fern Jackson and Otis Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by one son, Bobby Jackson and wife Tammy of Dallas; three brothers, Rayford King of Carthage, Joe Dan Brown of Frankfurt, Germany, Bobby Thomas and wife Lola of Dallas; six sisters, Wanda Jo Brooks and husband Julis of Midland, Willia Jean Taylor of Dallas, Dorothy Jones of Carthage, Barbara Ann Pope and husband Joey of Longview, Irritha Toran and husband Malcolm of Longview, and Emma Ruth Roberts and husband J.D. of Marshall; eight grandchildren, Chris Jackson, Demecrica Aubry, Roshunda Dorris, ShaRonda Anderson, LaRonda Coleman, Romia Latin, Bobby Jackson, Jr., and Chloe Jackson; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Marvin Tatum, Bravion Coleman, Xavier Davis, Sr., Jerry Sanders, Tommy Jackson, James Lynn Marshall, and Cecil Matlock. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Quintin Latin, Deon Anderson, Chris Pellum, Roy Lee Briggs, Frankie Lane Walls, Gregg Thompson, and Bobby Jackson, Jr.
