Funeral services for Mr. Dennis Dewayne Shew, 57 of Deadwood, Texas, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Doug Daniels and Brother Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Deadwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Shew passed away on Thursday morning, May 31, 2007 at his home in Deadwood.

Dennis Dewayne Shew was born on July 10, 1949 in Linden, Texas to Hubert Shew and Willodean Wiley Shew. He graduated from Atlanta High School in 1968 and attended Texarkana Junior College. He married Pat Davis in Texarkana, Arkansas in 1989. He loved hunting, fishing, and bull riding. Mr. Shew lived in Deadwood for the past 18 years moving from Cass County, Texas. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. Mr. Shew was preceded in death by his parents, his uncle, Bud Wiley, and his Grandma Wiley.

Mr. Shew is survived by his wife Pat Davis Shew of Deadwood; four sons, Mike Davis and wife Martha of the Shiloh Community, Mark Davis and wife Staci of Carthage, Mitch Davis and wife Melissa of Carthage, and Marty Davis and fiancée Mia Hooper of Carthage; one daughter, Jamie D. Cook of Nacogdoches; one brother, Wade Shew of Atlanta; two sisters, Tammy Shiflet of College Station and Rhonda Yates of Clovis, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Matt Davis, Marissa Davis, Keaton Davis, Connor Davis, Cammie Elizabeth Davis, Cody Davis, Madison Davis all of Carthage, and Jacob Cook of Nacogdoches; and a special friend, Jack LeBus.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Davis, Mark Davis, Mitch Davis, Marty Davis, Matt Davis, and Brannon Hightower. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jack LeBus, Mike Stewart, Doug Daniels, and Dean Steinback.
