Deborah Faye Childs, 60 of Longview formerly of Center, passed away on Thursday morning, July 28, 2016, in Carthage. She was born on Nov. 4, 1955, in Mansfield, LA. She was a talented pianist, hairdresser, and loved painting. She worked hard at many jobs throughout her life. Deborah loved the Lord and attended church when possible. She was a member of the Youngblood Freewill Baptist Church. Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Corbin Childs; a son, Derrick Davis; and a nephew, Robert L. Robinson, II.

Deborah is survived by her parents, Marie and Richard Plunkett of Joaquin; son, Dennis Davis of Longview; sisters, Linda Robinson and husband Randy of Carthage and Christy Ansel and husband Jeff of Rawlings, MD; brother, Richard Plunkett, Jr. of Joaquin; grandchildren, Chris Davis, Summer Phillips, and Matthew, Justin, and Dillon Davis; great-grandchild, Kailey; and great-aunt, Belle Bush of Center.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carl Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the nurses and staff of Heart's Way Hospice, especially Stacy and Jana for the loving care and dedication to Deborah. Special thanks to Bobbie whom Deborah really enjoyed seeing three times a week. She took such good care of her and truly has a compassionate heart. We would also like to thank Panola Care and Rehab, where Deborah was a resident for 2 years and 9 months, for their loving care. The employees at Panola cared for her with love, kindness, compassion, respect, and treated her like family. They go the extra mile and truly have a heart of compassion for others.
