David Lynn Sipes , 63, of Beckville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in Beckville. He was born on February 4, 1955, in Holtville, California to the late Marion William and Audrey Dene Edgmon Sipes. Mr. Sipes spent his lifetime in Beckville, graduating from Beckville High School with the class of 1973. He was a Christian in faith. David married Phyllis Dorman in Beckville on March 3, 1996. He worked for Sipes Construction and was a supervisor at Pierce Construction. He was a member of Tatum Masonic Lodge #1386 and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, participating in poker tournaments as well as poker games with friends and horse racing. Mr. Sipes was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Sipes Pepper; and grandsons, Tommy Cain Coleman and Kelly Dean Postell.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Lacy Sipes and husband Stephen Hammons of Beckville, Crystal Daughtry and husband Conan of Beckville, April Baker and husband Chad Broussard of Hamburg, Louisiana, Alisha Postell and husband Kevin of Beckville, and Anita Moore and husband Steven of Beckville; brothers, William "Butch" Sipes and wife LaNece of Beckville and Marion "Sonny" Sipes and wife Jeanne of Beckville; sister, Audrey Johnson and husband Jimmy of Beckville; 18 grandchildren, Lindsey, Molly, Lainey, Bo, Abby, Meagen, Brandi, Jason, T.J., Erica and husband Cody, Brittany, Nathan, Jossie, Kody, Nicholas, Blake, Kendley, Cannon; and 3 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Camden and Laurel. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Eddie Reed, Gene Williams, Tommy Coleman, Guy Edgmon, Ricky Hightower and Gary Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Pepper, Darren Dorman, Thomas English and Keith Williams.
