David Lee Pelzl, 65, of Carthage, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, in Carthage. He was born on Jan. 11, 1956, in Houston to Dalton Hubert and Bertha Marie Mims Pelzl. David graduated from Splendora High School with the class of 1974. He was a pipefitter and welder and worked for Luminant Mining for many years. David enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, Bertha Pelzl of Carthage; children, Derek Pelzl of Carthage, Devin Pelzl of Carthage, Dustin Pelzl and wife Nathalie of Fair Play, and Dylan Pelzl of Carthage; brother, Darrell Pelzl and wife Beverly of Henderson; and grandchildren, Dalton, Austin, Natalie, Amy, and Valentin Pelzl.

A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
