Obituary

David Glenn Myers, 82, of Tatum, Texas, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, February 1, 2022, in Longview, Texas. He was born on December 2, 1939, in Center, Texas to the late H.A. "Shine" Myers and Jimmie Ruth Pickard Hooper. David graduated from Tenaha High School with the class of 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962. After being honorably discharged from the Army, his work career encompassed managing Perry Bros., TG&Y, Gibson's and Family Dollar Stores, owning his own pallet business, building and owning David Myers Trucking, retiring as a guard from the Texas State Prison System, and until his death, happily employed as a Park Ranger at Martin Lake State Park. He was of the Baptist faith, was a 32 nd degree Mason, Gary Lodge #1101, and was a Shriner affiliated with the Sharon Temple Shrine, Tyler, TX. David was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and H.A Myers, Jr. (Junior), and a sister, Dora Lynn Myers.

He is survived by his children, David Allen Myers and wife Amanda, Angelia Myers, and David Edward Myers; sister, Ann Lawrence; grandchildren, Kimberly Russell and husband Wayne, Ashley Barron, Chase Myers and wife Natasha, Lindsey Jones and husband Cory, Chelsea Movilla-Diago and husband Juan, Erin Frederick and husband Chuck, and Clay Myers and wife Heaven; and 19 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with David Allen Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Ramah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Chase Myers, Clay Myers, James Lawrence, Ricky Maxey, Andy Dawson, and Chris Wilkins.
