David Kent Kitzman, age 74 years of Carthage, Texas formerly of Big Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday evening, December 2, 2024, at his home at Lake Murvaul. He was born on July 15, 1950, in Clintonville, Wisconsin to the late Edwin L. and Jane Hagen Kitzman. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam where he was stationed on the U.S.S. Constant and the U.S.S. Energy and was honorably discharged. David was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked in maintenance for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and as an electrician on the William A. Thompson. He received many honors throughout his career including being named a Kentucky Colonel for his work with FEMA. David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Shannon Kitzman.

He is survived by his children, Ted Kitzman and wife Teah, Shawn Reinke, and Michael Kitzman; grandchildren, Katie Kitzman, Declan Reinke, Oliver Kitzman, and Gryffin Kitzman; step-grandchildren, Josh Preston, Jennifer Preston, and Jamie Zank; and brother, Edwin Kitzman and wife Sharon.

A memorial service and burial of ashes will be held in Big Falls, Wisconsin in the Spring of 2025. Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
