Funeral services for Mr. David Glen Brooks, age 50, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Waldrop Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2007 at the funeral home.
David Glen Brooks, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, June 24, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas. David was born in Henderson, Texas on July 1, 1956 and graduated from Carthage High School. He spent his adult life working primarily outside the United States in most of the oil and gas producing countries and oceans of the world. David's friends are as diverse and numerous as the country stamps found in his well-used passport. A "citizen of the world," David was known for his big heart, kind spirit and mischievous smile. He loved his children very much and was loved by family and friends alike. David was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Patsy Brooks.
David is survived by four daughters, Brandi Nicole Brooks and husband Trey of Pearland, Amber June Brooks of Louisiana, Haley Michelle Brooks of Austin, and Courtney Dawn Brooks of Austin; two sons, Christopher David Brooks and Jakob Frazier Brooks both of Austin; one brother, Johnny Brooks and wife Lynnette of Lake Jackson; one sister, Carolyn Allums of Henderson; three grandchildren, Blake, Brinkley, and Dillion; two nieces, Ashley and Brooke, and a nephew, Clint Bagley.
Serving as pallbearers are Trey Bryant, Larry Don Hull, J. E. Duke, and Paul Boggs.
