A graveside service for Mr. David Tompkins, 67, of Longview, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Anderson officiating. Mr. Tompkins went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at his home in Longview.

David Albert "Slick" Tompkins was born on Nov. 19, 1947, in Henderson to the late Albert Burns and Louise Cariker Tompkins. He married Cathy Britt on June 20, 1975, they were married for 40 years. He loved spending time with his family and everything about the outdoors, including fishing and hunting. He enjoyed sports and riding his Harley. Mr. Tompkins served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was of Baptist faith. He was a good man with a good heart and will be missed dearly. David was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Mr. Tompkins is survived by his wife, Cathy of Longview; son, Michael Patrick Tompkins; daughter, Misti Tompkins; twin brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Tompkins; step-sister, Susan Ramos; and many friends.
