Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Darrance Patty Kelley, age 94, of Tatum, TX will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Tatum with Rev. Trey Roberson officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Tatum Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kelley passed away on Monday morning, June 28, 2010, in Longview.

Darrance Bell Patty Kelley was born on May 12, 1916, in the Harris Chapel Community of Panola County, TX to James (Jim) Henry Patty and Emma McKissack Patty. She attended the rural Panola County School at Harris Chapel. Mrs. Kelley married Harold Craig Kelley in Nov. of 1936, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1964. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Tatum where she oversaw the nursery for over 30 years. Mrs. Kelley worked a brief period of time at the Tatum Post Office, kept children at her home, and later worked for Tatum I.S.D. as a teacher's aide until her retirement. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Odell Watts and Hazel Hortman; and her son, Dwight Harold Kelley who passed away in 2005.

Mrs. Kelley is survived by two daughters, Linda Kelley and Debbie Kelley Shivers and husband David all of Tatum; three grandchildren, Tammy Shivers Holder and husband Jon of Carthage, Kristy Kelley Ford and husband Ryan of Tatum, and Kelley Shivers Satterwhite and husband Nick of Mayfield, Utah; six great-grandchildren, Kade Holder, Ethan and Lexie Ford, Porter Satterwhite, Hunter and Spencer Liles, and another on the way; brother-in-law, Hoyt Kelley and wife Evelyn; four sisters-in-law, Sherry Moore and husband Edward, Donie Kirkland and husband Randy, Emma Hardy and husband Jimmy, and Judy Ross and husband Andy. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Kelley.

Serving as pallbearers are David Shivers, Jon Holder, Ryan Ford, Nick Satterwhite, Hunter Liles, and Spencer Liles.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kade Holder, Ethan Ford, and Porter Satterwhite.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Srinivas Rangu and staff, Highland Pines Nursing Home and the second floor staff, and Texas Home Health Hospice for the loving care shown to Mrs. Kelley.
