Funeral services for Mrs. Darcie Walton McCann, age 68, of DeBerry, TX, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Central Baptist Church in Carthage with Rev. Glen Hood, Sr. officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Rest Cemetery near DeBerry. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. McCann passed away on Sunday afternoon, April 25, 2010, in Longview.

Darcie Ree Walton McCann was born on March 15, 1942, in Panola County, TX to Alex Walton, Sr. and Iree Smith Walton. Mrs. McCann graduated from Turner High School with the class of 1961. She married Curtis McCann on July 26, 2008 at St. Rest Baptist Church. Mrs. McCann lived most of her life in Panola County and was a member of St. Rest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father; one daughter, Doris Ann Holland; one granddaughter, Shasmin Delaney; and two brothers, Emanuel "T" Walton and Ray Walton.

Mrs. McCann is survived by her mother, Iree Walton of DeBerry; her husband, Curtis McCann of DeBerry; one son, Alton Earl Delaney and wife Verlene of DeBerry; two daughters, Sharon Delaney and friend Bill Evans of DeBerry and Sondra Delaney Marshall and husband Jim of DeBerry; son-in-law, Ozell Holland, Jr. of Carthage; two brothers, Alex Walton, Jr. and wife Ruby of Dallas and Freddie Carl Walton and wife Mary of Dallas; five sisters, Ruth Beck and husband Leon of DeBerry, Gurthy Moore and husband Billy of Dallas, Claudia Guffin of Dallas, Betty Jones of Longview, and Mildred Brooks and husband Jim of DeBerry; two sisters-in law, Dorothy Gates Walton and Dorothy "Dot" Walton; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Chris Beck. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. McCann.
